Who can create loans?
This service is available to all Limestone faculty, staff, students
and alumni. Material (ie books, articles) not owned by the
College Library will be requested from other libraries through
ILL (Interlibrary Loan). Please check first to make sure that
the item is not in the Limestone library; patrons who are on
the Gaffney campus are expected to procure materials available
in the library. |
How long does it take? The time it
takes to obtain material from other libraries varies. Books may
take a minimum of 5 days. While the library makes every effort to
get material quickly, it is wise to assume your request will take
a week or two to arrive in the library. Material that is in the
library or received from another library will be sent out to remote
patrons no later than the following day. Books will be sent by 3-day
UPS ground delivery. |
How many requests can I make? There
is currently no limit to the number of requests you can make. However,
the library reserves the right to put a limit on the number if it
is felt that the patron is not trying to use the library's collections
and/or the number of requests would hamper service to others. |
How much does it cost?
There is
no charge for this service. |
Where do I pick up/return materials? People
who take classes or work on the Gaffney campus or are Limestone
alumni will pick up and return material to the library's circulation
desk. Distant learners and faculty will have their material sent
to their home address (or emailed, if possible). Articles do not
have to be returned. Books need to be returned to the library before
the due date. |
How long can I keep an item? Books
from the Limestone Library may be checked out for 28 days. Lending
libraries determine the due dates for their material. Due dates
are taken seriously. Please comply with the loan period. On rare
occasions the library will attempt to procure renewals for ILLs,
if notified a week in advance. |
